Hello. Welcome to the beginning of my blog. I don’t know if you’re here because I’ve just started posting or if you scrolled through a bunch of posts and found yourself at the beginning, but regardless welcome. I wanted to make this post because I thought some opening thoughts to preface this blog preface would be a good idea, for both the blog’s sake and for mine.

The first thing I want to define is this: What is the point of this blog? There are a couple minor reasons, like staying in practice with writing and documenting my growth as a person, but the biggest reason I have for starting this blog is to just get my thoughts out in the world. I often find myself thinking and thinking and thinking and not having a great outlet for those ideas and feelings, so I (and my girlfriend) thought it would be a great idea to have a place I can write down and make a case for all the thoughts I’m having. So this will be that place.

What will I write about? Whatever I want! I anticipate my posts will be very sporadic and be about whatever I spent my day at work thinking about, and the topics will probably be my interests. So we can do an icebreaker right now and I’ll tell you my name, my age, my interests and a fun fact about myself.

Interests: Politics, music, video games (namely fighting games and roguelikes) and sports (Giants/Bills/Devils/Mets/Knicks).

Fun fact: I have a polydactyl cat named Dreepy. He is my entire world.

Now, I have one last thing I want to get across with this post and that is this: I am young. I am 22 years old at the time of writing this and graduated college just over a year ago. The main thing I learned while I was in college is that I don’t know shit. While I’m definitely smarter than I was fresh out of high school, I’m still a younger person, so I am still lacking in experience and knowledge. I say all of this because while I will be convicted and believe in the things I talk about here, I will inevitably get things wrong or change my mind on things, and I want you to know that I’m (probably) not super evil, I’m just figuring things out and still barely know anything. Don’t be too too mean.

That’s all I have for my initial thoughts. I hope this blog can stick around and be a good storage vat for my thoughts.
